Reiki is a wonderful treatment which can help people or animals manage pain, reduce stress and anxiety, it can enhance relaxation, and can promote healing.
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique that involves the practitioner placing their hands lightly on or just above the recipients body, with the intention of promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and overall wellbeing.
The word Reiki is composed of two Japanese words: 'Rei', which means universal life, and 'Ki', which means energy. Practitioners believe that Reiki channels universal life energy through their hands to the recipient, helping to balance the bodies energy centres known as the Chakras, and encouraging the body's natural healing processes.
Reiki can also be used as a complimentary therapy to conventional medical treatments and can be practiced in various settings.
Reiki is a wonderful treatment and suitable for people of all ages and stages.
I also practice Equine Reiki ( with or without the rider) . Equine Reiki is hugely beneficial and horses love receiving Reiki.
My own horse Johnny loves receiving this and can stand for very long periods of time absorbing this energy.
What should I expect during a Reiki session?
The practitioner will always make you feel at ease and talk with you and the reasons you feel Reiki may benefit you.
I ask the client to either lie on their backs or front if this is more comfortable , always on a therapy table. I will ensure you are relaxed and then use the energy that flows through me to flow into your body. The energy will always go to the part of the body that needs this healing energy, however I will focus on all of your chakras allowing energy to flow freely again in your body.
My hands are either placed on or hovering just over these energy centres.
Clients report a variety of sensations from heat, pins and needles ( fizzing sensations) , seeing auras, feelings of deep relaxation, unblocking emotional blockages. Everyone is different but always gives a sense of deep wellbeing and comfort.
